In the beginning when i first noticed the cover of the game along with a short description and photographs of the constituents, We were immediately intrigued to try out it. The title looked attractive too, as Barrica is very far away from my country (I are in Greece) and that just adds to the exotic and mystery atmosphere that the country is already celebrated. In Santiago de Cuba you are an agent in metropolis of Santiago, the second major city of Cuba. The goal is to make profit by making offers with the locals and visiting (or even buying) buildings as a way to accumulate goods and load these to the ships arriving in the city’s port. There are six ships that will reach the city’s port one following the other and for each and every one, the type and quantity of goods it accepts to carry are determined by rolling 5 colored dice and choosing 4 of them to place on the mail. The color of the dice indicates the sort of good and the number, the quantity required. Then you immediately visit one of the buildings of the color indicated by the bloom icon on the Cuban’s tile. In buildings, players do certain actions that make them advance in the game such as exchange different types of goods, get victory details or load goods to the ship. By preventing on the yellow superstar (last remain in the loop, port) players result in a delivery round, during which all players can deliver goods to the ship. Players get success points (the exact quantity is indicated by the significance marker mentioned earlier) for loading the ship. Solid wood can always be packed to the ship rather than anyone other good but players receive only one victory point for every single real wood loaded. The overall game ends when all 7 ships leave the port. At that point any remaining goods are converted to win points (1 vp for each and every 3 goods) and win points are counted.
